Privacy policy

We collect as little as possible. There are no accounts, no analytics tools and no ads on this site. This page explains exactly what is collected, why, and who receives it.

Who is responsible

The controller of your data is EventCatch. For any privacy question, write to support@eventcatch.app.

What we collect

Technical logs: when you visit, the server records your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. Logs are used only for security and fixing faults, and are deleted after 30 days at most.

Language: one cookie, called lang, remembers the last language you read the site in. See the cookie policy. On your first visit, the language is chosen from the country you are browsing from and your browser language. The country is worked out by our hosting provider (Cloudflare) from your IP address at the time of the request. We do not store it or use it for anything else.

Location: if you tap “Near me”, your browser asks for your permission. The location is used only inside your browser to work out distances to events. It is not sent to us and it is not stored.

Following artists: if you tap “Follow artist”, the list of artists you chose is saved only in your browser, in its local storage, and is not sent to us. To check for new shows, your browser now and then asks us for each of those artists’ public list of shows, like any normal request to the site. Those requests go only into the usual technical logs and are deleted with them. We do not keep your list or link it to you.

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number or payment details: there is no sign-up and nothing is bought on this site.

Legal basis

Technical logs: legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and working.

Location: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time in your browser settings.

Following artists: your request. Following starts only after you tap the button, and you can stop at any time with “Unfollow” or by clearing the site’s data in your browser.

Who receives data

Hosting: the site runs on Cloudflare servers, which process data on our behalf and on our instructions.

Images: event images load directly from Ticketmaster’s servers, so your browser sends them your IP address, as with any image loaded from another site.

Ticket sellers: when you tap a tickets button you go to the seller’s website, and its privacy policy applies from then on. With an affiliate link the seller knows you came from us, but we do not pass on any information about you.

Affiliate networks: some ticket buttons pass through an affiliate network (such as Awin or Impact) on the way to the seller’s website. The network records the click and may set its own cookie, so it knows the purchase came through us and can calculate our commission. We only receive aggregated click and sales reports from the network, with no name, email address or payment details. The network’s own privacy policy applies to it.

We do not sell personal information and do not share it for advertising, including under the California privacy law (CCPA/CPRA).

International transfers

Our servers may be outside your country. Data leaving the EU or the UK is transferred under recognised safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

You can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, or receive it in a file. To use a right, write to support@eventcatch.app. We reply within 30 days.

You can complain to the Privacy Protection Authority in Israel, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) in the UK, or the data protection authority in your EU country.

California residents have the right to know, delete and correct, and not to be treated differently for using these rights.

Children

The site is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data about them.

Security

The site uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Access to the servers is restricted and old logs are deleted automatically.

Changes

Before we add anything that collects more data, such as accounts, email alerts or phone notifications, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where needed.
